Paul Etterling: Pastor

Born in 1972 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the Porter Free Will Baptist Church was a vital part of Paul Etterling's life for twenty-one years. It was at the Porter Church at the age of ten that he accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of his life. Upon graduation from Shawnee State University, Paul enrolled in Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee. He has continued his education through Liberty University's distance learning program. Paul has served as youth pastor at North Warren Free Will Baptist Church in Warren, Michigan and senior pastor at the Reynoldsburg Free Will Baptist Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Paul married his sweetheart, Frances Loudin, on October 18, 1997. They currently reside in Columbus, Ohio and have three children, Kylie, David (who is now with the Lord), and Joel.
He wrote "Genuine Faith" which tells us the story of a father, who one day got the devastating news that his unborn son had anencephaly - an always fatal birth defect - and would die at or shortly after his birth. The book tells how Paul and Frances Etterling had to weigh the doctors' pressure to abort ("why go through the pain of pregnancy and delivery to profit nothing?") against their beliefs, until the death of David Nathaniel, a "Well loved gift of God".
